How to use the Online Karaoke Wizard?

What you need:

Instructions

  1. Load the Online Karaoke Wizard.
  2. Enter the song's title in the box above.
  3. Paste the lyrics of the song in the box labeled "Lyrics".
  4. If necessary, edit the lyrics so that what is sung is exactly what is written down. Often, the chorus is written only once in the lyrics, even if it is sung many times. It is important for the program that every sung line is written down.
  5. Press "OK", right under the Lyrics box. The first line of the song will appear in the "Current line" pulldown menu.
  6. Get ready to press the "Play" button in your mp3 player, your stereo, or whatever you use to play the song.
  7. Press "Begin". A five-second countdown will begin.
  8. Hit "Play" when the countdown reaches zero.
  9. Hit "Register" as soon as you hear that the "Current line" begins (even better: just before it begins). Repeat this until the song is over.
  10. Hit "KaraOK!".

Now I've created Karaoke for my song and I want to take the code with me. What should I do?

Important: it's useless to bookmark a Karaoke page you've created. If you did, when you load your bookmark, the browser will load the Karaoke Wizard input page, not the song. This is not done purpose, it is simply the only way that the Karaoke Wizard can work (that I know of). If you want to keep the song, select "Save as..." from the appropiate menu and save the file with an HTML extension.

If you would like to edit the code, the important code has been marked with the messages "BEGIN CUTTING HERE" and "END CUTTING HERE". You'll see these messages twice in the source code, because there are two pieces of code that must be cut: the javascript code and the lyrics. Make sure both appear in the html page you create.
